GEOSURV-IRAQ performs and practices the
following tasks and activities:
*Execution of geological surveys and
mineralogical explorations, geophysical,
geochemical
geotechnical, hydrogeological and land use
studies for both the public and private sectors,
according to strategic and annual plans.
*Documentation of all geological,
Mineralogical, hydrogeological , geophysical and geochemical
data that were acquired from execution of its
projects and or from other trusted sources about
Iraq and detigitization of all the gained data
to support and update the National Information
center for Geology and Minerals which permits in
handling of precise data by the users, and for
community culture and to document the Iraqi
wealth from the geological data in its all
specializations and to provide the data as a
reference for future planning.
*Promoting the mineral investment and mining
industry through publishing and circulating all
the necessary data and information about mineral
resources. GEOSURV is authorized by law by the
Iraq government to watch and follow-up the best
investment for the mineral
wealth, which serves the requirements of the
sustainable development in Iraq.
*Execution of all laboratory analyses and tests,
in its specialization needed to support its own
projects or scientific services offered by
Geosurv-Iraq, which is updating its equipments
and work procedures that make GEOSURV to be the
governmental reference in its specializations .
* Execution of scientific researches and pioneer
laboratory tests to improve the characteristics
of the raw materials and industrial rocks in
Iraq to suit the requirements of mineralogical
industrial and the use of mineral resources in
different Industrial fields, through executing
laboratory and pilot plant test.GEOSURV is also
updating scientific researches in processing of
mineral raw materials and industrial rocks .
*Supporting all regions and governorates in Iraq
to get the best of their own mineral resources,
and possibilities of establishing, mineral
industries with in their geographical limits .
*GEOSURV-Iraq can sign contracts to execute
project, in its line, with any beneficiary party
or institute inside or outside Iraq or to serve
the international cooperative programs approved
by the Iraqi Federal Government with different
countries, according to a special system, which
deals with the geological work out of Iraq after
getting the permission of the ministry.
*Commitments of all requirements of Total
Quality Management at all parts of geological
activities, and working continuously to improve
and update the works procedures to meet the
international specifications in its
specializations .
