Define the
Aspaital of Location and plants Belonging to MIM
The Department of Information relied on scientific experience and
capabilities available in the Information Division to compete for
the execution of a project (define the project (Define the locations
and plants belonging to MIM) which was declared as a tender.
A contract was signed between GEOSURV and the Centre of Information
and Scientific Knowledge.
The work was accomplished within a typical period because of the
efforts of the employees in the Division and by adopting a new
techniques and softwares in the GIS field. Also trained the members
of the Information Centre on using this system because it is the
first in Iraq and it also represents a huge step towards
establishing the electronic government.
The Head of the Information Centre was proud to announce these news
to the media.
The local gazettes have previously published the news of
accomplishing the project of the system related to define the
Aspaital of the companies and plants belonging to the MIM.
This project was executed by the Centre of Information and
Scientific Knowledge in the MIM.
The Head of the Centre has mentioned that the project aims to
allocating the location and plants belonging to MIM and providing
applications of decision support to enable the officials of
preparing scientific plans for the industrial sector depending on
its aspaital data, and also unifying the various databases related
to the industry sector which are available in the ministry and
connecting them with the interactive maps of the rest of the state
ministries.

detailed geological survey project at AL Najaf (hydrogeological
activity), thus the total amount of drilling wells reached up to six
wells.

geoinformational model for a geological project scale 1:250,00 for
the supporting group members of geological survey division as a
beginning to unity the work of this group.
The division continues in promoting the site of broadcasting and
marketing of digital information.
It has also completed the map and sketches concerning the location

members from other department, has participated in a symposium about
(The Pilot Technique of Remote Sensing in the Present and Future
Investment Project in Iraq) held at Al-Mosul University / the Centre
of Remote Sensing.
Our representatives have participated with two researches studies
about the lineation and their connecting with the drainage system of
utilizing them in feeding groundwater and storing surface water.
The other research was a study of sand dunes, environmental changes
and the uses of earth and earth crust in Ali Al-Garbi area to the
south of Iraq.
This participation has showed the important role of GEOSURV
activities in using GIS in implementing its purposeful project and
